HON. NAJIB BALALA, EGH, MP, MINISTER FOR TOURISM TO FLAG OFF THE ROME MARATHON ON 22ND MARCH 2009

The 15th edition of the Rome Marathon will be held on 22nd March 2009 . Kenya s Minister for Tourism, Hon. Najib Balala EGH, MP has been invited as a Guest of Honour to flag off the Marathon race. This is indeed a great Honour for Kenya as it is the first time in the history of theRome marathon that a Non Italian VIP has been given the opportunity to flag off the race and to present an award to one of the first three winners

As in the past, Kenyan athletes will participate in this competitive race and we wish them the best of luck.

To show solidarity with our Minister and the Athletes during the above occasion, all Kenyans in Italy are welcome to position themselves strategically along the Marathon route to cheer and encourage our sports Ambassadors. Promotional materials will be available for use during the event on 22nd of March 2009. Kenyans can get in touch with the Embassy and/orChairperson of the Association of Kenyans in Italy (AKI )for further details
