APPRECIATION

On behalf of the Kenya Embassy, Rome and on my own behalf, I take this opportunity to thank all members of the Kenya Community for the support extended to the late Mrs. Janet Akika Kailikia's family and the Mission in general following the sudden passing on of our dear colleague Janet.

We were touched by your generosity and availability to assist in whichever way possible despite your heavy schedule of duties and personal commitments. This i consider commendable and a sign of solidarity amongst us Kenyans in line with our culture and traditions. Indeed, am pleased to note and point out that some of you made time to visit Janet's residence on daily basis to comfort and and also make a contribution in terms of food and finacial token that went along way in augmenting family resourses for funeral expenses. I would like to recognise and commend the children who accompanied their parents and spent long hours with their friends and consoled and shared their burden in the darkest time of their lives. This valuable gesture made a big difference in terms of psychological and physical support to us and especially to the family. May you all be blessed.

Janet was laid to rest on Saturday, 15th September 2007 in Meru. My deputy, Mr. S.K. Maina, represented the Mission and the Kenya Community in Italy at the service that was held in Nairobi and the subsequent burial upcountry. Let us keep the family in our prayers and in particular the children, Winnie, Alex and Edwin as they strive to come to terms with their loss. As it is not possible to thank each one of you, please accept this message as a sincere note of appreciation.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
AMEN

Ann B.Nyikuli.
