KENYA EMBASSY HOSTS DIPLOMATS DURING THE 49^TH EDITION OF KENYA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY 12th DECEMBER 2012

 The Ambassador H.E. Mrs Josephine W. Gaita led the Kenya Embassy in hosting the 49th Independence Day anniversary on 12^th December 2012

at St. Regis hotel on Via Vittorio E. Orlando 3. The members of the Diplomatic Community based in Rome as well as Kenyan Diaspora and their representatives attended the function.

Ambassador Gaita Presents her Credentials to the President of the Republic of Malta

Her Excellency Mrs. Josephine W. Gaita made an official visit to the Republic of Malta on 4^th -8^th December, 2012.

During the visit, H.E. the Ambassador presented her Credentials to H.E. Dr. George Abela, President of the Republic of Malta.  

She later held discussion with the President of Malta on both Bilateral and Multilateral issues of mutual interest to the two countries.

H. E. The Ambassador was accompanied by her spouse Mr. Joseph F. Gaita and an officer from the Embassy, Mr. Charles Ooko.

H. E. the Ambassador also called on the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. John Paul Grech, the Director of Protocol and Consular Services, Ms. Joanna Pisani and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corp H.E. Mons Tommaso Caputo.

TRENTO-AFRICA FORUM

The Amb.  Mrs. Josephine Wangari Gaita participated in the Trento-Africa Forum which was held on 18^th April 2012. The Forum was hosted by the Administration of the Autonomous Province of Trento  and was coordinated by the Councillor for International Solidarity and Coexistence Ms. Lia  Giovanazi Beltrami.

Ambassadors from twelve African countries took part in this event.

The Forum brought together Associations and Non -Governmental Organizations from Trento which were actively collaborating with various actors in Africa in finding solutions to local problems.

After addresses from the Ambassadors on the situation in their respective countries, Her Excellency had an opportunity of meeting with the Associations and NGOS working in Kenya where she heard the challenges facing. She promised to assist them as much as possible as they continued to offer humanitarian assistance to Kenyans

Before the start of the forum the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the President of the Province, Mr. Lorenzo Dellai where she held hearty discussions on areas of possible cooperation between Kenya and the Province
