Application for a Birth Certificate for Kenyan Citizens Born Abroad

Requirements:

  • Duly filled applicant’s details form
  • Form BDA1 duly filled  (Click to download form)
  • Original and copy of child’s foreign birth certificate
  • Original foreign birth certificate in English or Plurilingual birth certificate
  • Original and a copy of child’s foreign passport
  • Original and two certified copies of parents’ passports
  • Original and two certified copies of parents’ birth certificates
  • Two certified copies of parents’ National Identity Card (new generation) (front and back). If one parent is non-Kenyan- two certified copies of foreign passport.
  • Two copies of proof of legal stay of parents in their country of residence
  • Proof of having regained Kenyan citizenship and or declaration for dual citizenship

Duplicate Birth/Death Certificate

Certificate of Good Conduct

Requirements:

  • Duly filled applicant’s details form
  • An Authenticated Copy of Police Clearance use the link  dci.ecitizen.go.ke/verify
  • Letter/Email request to the Embassy for fingerprints
  • Application form duly filled (biographical details) (Click here to download form)
  • Original Passport and Original second generation Kenyan ID card for certification
  • 1 coloured passport size photograph
  • €20 processing fee for the certificate
  • €60 Fee certification of documents and letter of request for finger prints.

Certificate of no impediment to Marriage

Requirements:

  • Duly filled applicant’s details form
  • Application Form MA5 duly filled. (Click here to download Form)
  • Duly filled Declaration of Commitment to Marriage form  (fiancé and fiancée) (Letter of Commitment to Marriage)
  • Original and a copy of Kenyan birth certificate
  • Original Kenyan passport and original passport of fiancé or fiancée with two copies of each for certification. (if a foreigner, to be Certified and Stamped by a Notary Public)
  • Copy of valid Foreign Resident Permit
  • 2 coloured passport size photographs each
  • In case of divorced partner, attach divorce decree that is authenticated by Prefettura.
  • € 110 processing fee for the certificate of no impediment to marriage
  • € 40 processing fee for the Nulla Osta (only for persons intending to get married in Italy)
  • € 60 fee for certification of documents.

NOTE: If both parties are Kenyan Citizens they will be required to pay the processing fee for each party respectively.

Obtaining a duplicate Marriage Certificate

 Requirements:

Certificate of No Impediment to the transport of human remains/Ashes

The funeral agencies in charge of preparing the body for transportation should provide the following:

Requirements:

  • Letter of request
  • A letter from the Health Department confirming that there was no contagious disease at the time of death (Estratto di atto di morte).
  • Telephone number of next of kin in Kenya.
  • Death certificate
  • Passport copy of the deceased
  • Burial permit

On receipt of the above documents, the Embassy will issue a certificate of no objection for the human remains to be transported to Kenya. Further documentation may be needed in case of the transport of human ashes for Non-Kenyans.
