Authentication of documents and signatures

Requirements

  • A letter of request indicating the purpose for the authentication.
  • Copy of an identification document of the client requesting the service.
  • The original document duly authenticated by the relevant authority.
  • €20 fee processing fee per document to be authenticated.
  • The Application can be personally delivered to the Embassy, or sent by a courier. 
  • The applicant has to arrange for collection of passport once finalized by courier ( The Couriers way bill to be sent to the Embassy via email – consular@embassyofkenya.it)

Translation of Documents

Please note that we offer Translation services for documents from English to Italian and Italian to English.

Note: The mission does not translate and authenticate documents for purposes of gaining Italian citizenship and the declaration of value for purposes of enrollment in Italian Universities.

This service is available for the following circumstances, where one is required to declare;

B) Discrepancies in names/spellings

C) Different places of birth in documents

D) Single status declaration

E) Family status declaration

  • Supporting documents relevant to the nature of declaration required or requested
  • € 20  processing fee
  • The Application can be personally delivered to the Embassy, or sent by a courier.

Family status Declaration

Requirements:

  • Letter of request indicating the purpose for the certificate.
  • Copy of your passport
  • Copy of parents passport if relevant
  • Copy of birth certificate of persons to be included in the family declaration
  • Copy of passports of persons to be included in the family declaration
  • One passport size  photographs
  • € 20 processing fee
  • The Application can be personally delivered to the Embassy, or sent by a courier.
  • The applicant has to arrange for collection of passport once finalized by courier ( The Couriers way bill to be sent to the Embassy via email – consular@embassyofkenya.it).

Emergency Travel Document

Emergency Travel Document

An “Emergency Certificate” is a one-way travel document which is issued to Kenyan nationals who do not have a valid passport at the time when they wish to travel to Kenya. This document is merely intended to facilitate travel to Kenya, and does not allow for a return journey. The person to whom it was issued must, therefore, obtain a valid Kenyan passport during their stay in Kenya, so as to ensure that they can actually leave Kenya again.

NOTE: Please note that Emergency Travel Document is valid for use for 1 month from the date of issue.

Requirements

  • Letter explaining reason for travel/emergency
  • Proof of Kenyan citizenship i.e. copy of lost passport; original expired Kenyan Passport; National ID card; For minors copy of birth certificate or birth extract certificate.
  • Police Report if passport is lost
  • Confirmed flight booking/ticket
  • Duly filled passport form 19, (click to download form)
  • 3 coloured passport size photographs.

HUDUMA NAMBA

(National Integrated Identity Management System-NIIMS)

The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National government has advised that Kenyans in the diaspora will collect their Huduma Namba cards in the respective Missions of their registration. Those wishing to collect their cards in another Mission, can choose the convenient Mission through the Huduma Namba Diaspora Portal. Currently the Huduma Namba secretariat has operationalized the following email address for use by the Diaspora Community. diaspora@hudumanamba.go.ke

Furthermore, there is a toll-free number +254-0800221111 which has been provided for use by Kenyans abroad for all inquiries.

Diaspora Remittances Survey

The Central Bank of Kenya  inn conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics rolled out an online Diaspora Remittances Survey that will run from 19th March to 17th May 2021..

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Information for the Diaspora.

This is to bring to your attention that The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has developed sets on tax and customs matters in an effort to support both the diaspora and returning residents to improve tax compliance. Furthermore, they have also established the following communication channels for use by Kenyans in the Diaspora to enhance customer experience.
 
You are therefore kindly requested to share this very important information with the Diaspora in your respective regions. A GUIDE FOR DIASPORA REMITTANCES AND INVESTMENTS
 

The Ministry  of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) developed a digital booklet on remittances and investments, which was launched on 29th June,2017.

The booklet: Send money & invest in Kenya: A guide for Diaspora Remittances & Investments  systematically identifies, explains and collates a cross section of affordable remittance channels, as well as remittance savings, and investments opportunities in an informative and user-friendly manner.

KENYA LABOUR MIGRATION WEBSITE

The international Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the National Employment Authority (NEA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other
stakeholders have launched the ‘Kenya Labour Migration Website’ www.kenyamigrantworker.org .The website raises awareness about safe and fair migration among
prospective migrant workers to countries with which the Government of Kenya has signed Bilateral Labour Agreements i.e Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
